Mediatek launches MT2621 IoT chipset

MediaTek makes a step into the IoT world with its latest chip announcement. The MT2621 SoC is built to enable extended coverage, cross-market application with network transition function and phone calls. This means devices like smart trackers, wearables and IoT devices. The dual-mode IoT SoC is capable of both NB-IoT R14 and GSM/GPRS connectivity. It can support one SIM card with antenna that covers both cellular networks.
